Seeing the letters on the screen, actually seeing them, gives the mind a much needed reprieve. It also allows ideas to bloom, like flowers in a garden, rather than be swept up by the whirlpoolian nature of the psyche. A simple word, written down, like love, can be love, instead of the impossibly dense stack of meaning that it holds in the mind. Its by writing it down that we strip it of its weight, so that it can be held by our lips, and pondered. Its lightness does not betray the richness of its meaning, but rather, it enables it. Any and all ideas are superheavy, at least those that are worth pondering about. Writing is closer to sculpting than painting, in this sense.
