I once taught web design to university students as a guest instructor. They were new to web design and created free, unconventional designs. My role was limited to that single session; afterward, the students learned web technology from a different instructor. Half a year later, I saw the work of students who had acquired sufficient skills. Their websites had become ordinary and very boring, looking like something I'd seen somewhere before. It was very interesting for me.
