took two days off to pay taxes. feels like i needed three. death and taxes or taxes will be the death of me.

in oaxaca, starting to plan our move back. this weekend i will reinforce our old, rather large, chicken coup to become a safe space for tennessee williams (our dog). we need it because there are a lot of fireworks in this area and he is a runner and has already escaped from this garden several times and behind us is just the sierra mountain range and he could easily get lost in there.
maybe some mezcal today. visit old friends and family. before that, work, work, work.

eat fish + swim forward into the new year ... don't scratch backwards 🐓. cold front today 🌧️ chipichipi "drizzling rain". drive to oaxaca tomorrow to start organising for the move back home in april. looking forward to it.

i am terrible at organisational workflows, but that is all there is to do at work right now. i want to make maple bourbon gingerbread cookies tonight. been meaning to reread howl by ginsberg and los dedos de mi mano by alaíde foppa, but when i picked out howl from the bookshelf, it came with a black widow ... so i took it as a sign. though that sign should probably be that i need to dust, clean, and organise my bookshelf. but it is my lazy christmas gift to myself to procrastinate this chore another week.
