▓. 24/02/26 // i know i know, we are all busy. but i really am! work is ramping up, i am training a new sme, creating new documentation systems, and migrating old documents from one crm to another. we are also preparing for our move. in the midst of it all a large branch from our tree fell through the laundry room roof. compounded by the rain and cold, it isn't ideal. but we march on. we are a little worried that some cartel action could postpone our move ... but we will have to see how this conflict escalates in the south (or hopefully things will just be calm 🤞. we were just talking about all of the things we have experienced as simple folk: appo (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_Oaxaca_rebellion), ct + sinolia outbursts in 2014/15 tijuana, the nochixtlan and teachers rebellion in 2016 oaxaca, then the pandemic, then renta/cobra de piso issues + post-pandemic robberies / crimes of desperation in veracruz, and now the tension this latest cjng has brought to much of mexico. will we ever get a decade worth of peace ... a little break? it would be nice. though, i fully supported the oaxacan rebellions and appo as it was a political uprising against the government ... we have been tired ever since.
▓. 20/02/26 // coughing three weeks straight. please go away. normal for me, but wish it wasn't. hard work week. weekend is here. gin + tonics. some peruvian and bolivian psych. ready!
▓. 18/02/26 // back in xalapa, working a ton this week. we started to organise for our moving truck. returning to oaxaca is starting to feel much more real.
last night i had a nightmare that the u.s. attacked mexico. we got inscripted into the military, and they placed trackers in our necks. for some reason i was stationed in acapulco and was trying to escape the bay under heavy fire. super surreal dream.
▓. 13/02/26 // friday the 13th. remember, always bring your wrench and a leatherman.
▓. 11/02/26 // working extra hard to have the day off tomorrow and not stress the whole day about missing deadlines. hate that you have to work harder to enjoy an additional day off. hardly makes sense.
▓. 10/02/26 // in oaxaca. visitng friends and preparing some things for the move back. i have three days' worth of deep work that i have to finish in two, but it shouldn't be too hard. enjoying the sun a little while i work, trying to shake off the winter blues.
