Dear reader,

It's a rainy day here in Oregon. I've been walking in the forests and thinking and not thinking.

One forest thought I had this week ~ sometimes I wish Special Fish had a private log. A place to write that only you can see. Would you use something like this? I’d love to hear.

Some things...

As a fellow .computer user I love where this site is going. emiflake writes:

"the website should feel organic, far less digital than most, hard lines are of course allowed, but a softer, more vague, human, line is preferable. the skewing and rotating of images can help a lot here too. a paper feel."

9.29.25

I love letting this page grow and then thinning it out, pruning it, leaving up thoughts I want to still share, ideas that I still want to ponder on. It's ephemeral, there's no archive of anything, it all just morphs with the days and my feelings

Funny how people tend to run to the sea as if it is a train to catch.

In April 2024, Kristoffer and I met at a small bookshop in Athens and talked about creating a phone book of the internet. One year later, the Internet Phone Book was launched there, with Kristoffer reading messages submitted by more than 700 designers, developers, writers, curators, and educators from its yellow pages. We are not the first to create such a book, but with algorithms and search engines shaping the ways we experience the web today, a low-tech alternative felt more necessary than ever.

The Internet Phone Book is now back in stock everywhere (except the US for now).
